The first picture was taken in 2011 my sophomore year of college, the second picture was this past year. My fitness journey has been a long one, but that’s okay. It’s not supposed to be a start date and an end day. Health and Fitness are for LIFE.
Over the past six years I’ve lost 43 lbs, and to be 100% honest with all of you I have put some of that back on. I’m not here to just show you the good parts of my health and fitness journey. I want to share with you the good, the bad and the ugly. Why? Because if I can help someone to not give up because they put a few pounds back on, or they ate a piece of cake, then well my job is done.
A little over a year ago I gained the courage to do something I never thought I would do. I became a fitness instructor. I started with my group fitness certification and started teaching bootcamp at the gym I belonged to. Then I made the decision to become a Zumba Instructor and let me tell you that changed my life and opened up so many opportunities for me. Since becoming a Zumba instructor I also became a Strong by Zumba instructor which is what I currently teach at my gym. If you would’ve told me back in 2011 that I would be teaching a fitness class I would have looked you in the eye and told you that you were crazy!
